What’s the booking fee?
A flat 15% on each session. That covers payments, platform, matching, admin, and support. No other fees, ever. You keep 85% of your stated rate.
Can I use my own lesson materials?
Absolutely. Our whiteboard has a document library you can fill with your own worksheets, slides, PDFs. Many tutors also sell packs via our resources library for extra income.
How are students matched to me?
When a parent enquires with your subject area, our matcher suggests you plus 2–3 other tutors based on fit. Parents choose. You can also be featured in the main directory.
What happens if a student cancels?
Under 24 hours, the student pays 50% of the fee. Under 4 hours, they pay 100%. You’re protected — and parents know the rules up-front.
Do I need my own DBS?
Yes, but we’ll walk you through the application if you don’t have one. The cost (£38) is reimbursed after your first five sessions.
Do you accept international tutors?
Yes — we have tutors based in 14 countries. You’ll need native-level English, and students must be in UK-friendly time zones.
